Fortaleza Blanco Tequila

Tequila Fortaleza is a handcrafted, small-batch spirit. The same production techniques that our family used to create tequila more than 140 years ago are still employed to make it now! Before they are picked, we choose each agave for maturity. They are then cooked by steam in our tiny brick oven. The agave liquids are then carefully extracted using a two-ton stone wheel known as a tahona. We ferment the musto for 3 to 5 days after adding water from the Tequila volcano and removing the fibers. After the fermentation is finished, we double distill the tequila in two tiny copper pot stills to give it its characteristic flavor.
