Doc Swinson’s Alter Ego Triple Cask Bourbon Whiskey Cask Strength

This higher-proof release of Doc's Alter Ego Bourbon is a special treat, normally only available to the master blender. It is made using techniques borrowed and twisted to create a unique flavor profile. The goal was to take good whiskies, blend them together, and enhance the flavors while still maintaining the integrity of the whiskey. After years of experimentation with different finishing casks, we found success using Olorosso Sherry, Pedro Ximenez Sherry, and Cognac casks from carefully selected producers.

These techniques accentuate or layer in new flavors, rather than overwhelming the bourbon's inherent character. The delicate characteristics of the past occupants of the casks mix and marry with the smooth yet bold aspects of Doc’s Straight Bourbons. Each release is then meticulously blended and aged further in ex-Cognac Foeders before bottling. The finishing and blending techniques impart a dry nuttiness, subtle sweetness, and a prolonged finish to an already great whiskey, while still allowing the bourbon's natural flavors to shine through.
